Pig

Snout and body of pig are joined at the end of each round with a slip stitch.

With F hook
Starting at pigs snout,
Chain 2
1) 5 sc in 2nd chain from hook.
2) ch 1, 2 sc in each sc around (10 sc)
3) ch 1, (2 sc in first sc, sc in next sc) repeat around (15sc)
4) IN BACK LOOPS ONLY.. Sc in each sc around
5-6) ch 1, sc in each sc around. (this is the last row of the snout.. Next is the body)
7) ch 1, 2 sc in each sc around (30 sc)
It is easiest to embroider snout at this point
8-14) ch 1, sc in each sc around
15) ch 1, (sc dec, sc in next 3 sc) repeat around (24 sc)
16) ch 1, (sc dec, sc in next 2 sc) repeat around (18 sc)
Stuff
17) ch 1, (sc dec, sc in next sc) repeat around (12 sc)
Stuff a bit more
18) ch 1, sc dec around (6 sc)
DO NOT FINISH OFF, but instead chain 8.
Slp stitch in 2nd chain from hook, and remaining chains, and first stitch of body.
FO leaving long tail. Use long tail to close hole around pigs tail.


With G hook


Ears (make 2)
Ears are done in rows
Leaving long beginning tail, Chain 7
1) Sc in 2nd chain from hook, sc in remaining chains (6 sc)
2) ch 1, turn, sc in each sc across
3) Ch 1, turn, sc dec, sc in next 2 sc, sc dec. (4 sc)
4) Ch 1, turn, sc in each sc across
5) Ch 1, turn, sc dec across (2 sc)
6) Ch 1, turn, sc dec. (1 sc)
FO leaving long enough tail to weave back into ear
.
Use the end just finished off to weave back through last stitch made. This will help define the tip of the ear. Weave in lose end then.
Using long beginning tail, sew ears onto pig, folding in a bit on each side to resemble a pigs ear. Repeat with other ear.


Pigs Feet (make 4)
Feet are done in a continous round. You do not join at the end of each round.
Chain 2
1) 6 sc in 2nd chain from hook
2-4) sc in each sc around
Fasten off

Do not close foot hole, sew onto bottom of pig.

Weave in any loose ends you have.

Sew or embroider eyes onto pig.

small amounts of ww yarn
F Hook
Polypellets (optional)
Fiberfill
Googly eyes
Terms used
Ch = chain
Sc = single crochet
Sc-dec = single crochet decrease over 2 stiches
FO = Finish off
Slp st = slip stitch


Heads are done in one continuous spiral.
Shorter round head

Ch 2
1) 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook
2) 2 sc in each sc around. (12 sc)
3) (2sc in next sc, sc in next sc) repeat around. (18 sc)
4) (2sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc) repeat around. (24sc)
5-8) sc in each sc around.
9) (sc-dec, sc in next 2 sc) repeat around (18 sc)
10 (sc-dec, sc in next sc) repeat around (12 sc)
STUFF (use polypellets to fill bottom half to help stand up better)
11) sc-dec around (6 sc)
slp st to next sc
FO
Use tail end to sew hole shut
Tall Skinny Head

Ch 2
1) 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook
2) 2 sc in each sc around. (12 sc)
3) (2sc in next sc, sc in next sc) repeat around. (18 sc)
4-10) sc in each sc around
11) (sc-dec, sc in next sc) repeat around (12 sc)
STUFF (use polypellets to fill bottom half to help stand up better)
12) sc -dec around (6 sc)
slp st to next sc
FO
Use tail end to sew hole shut


For hair
Cut several strands of yarn about 6 inches long.
insert hook into head from behind a sc, with the hook coming our in front of selected sc. Grab middle of yard strands with hook and pull through stitch, ( Like you would
latch hook!) making a small loop.
Pull all free ends of yarn strand through loop, pulling tight to head.

Glue or sew on eyes.
Decorate as desired!

I just finished making this little piggie! So cute! It's my first crocheted stuffed animal. We are adopting a child from foster care and I am planning on making an entire toy chest full of your animals! I just LOVE them. Thanks so much for sharing the patterns!
